World Day of Remembrance – Worcester event

Join WalkBike Worcester and Worcester City Councilor Etel Haxhiaj (District 5) at a World Day of Remembrance event in front of Chandler Magnet School in Worcester. Those gathered will hear from people personally affected by traffic deaths and injuries, and will highlight the need to work for safer streets.

Attendees are asked to wear yellow, the color of traffic safety.

World Day of Remembrance, which began in 2005, honors the 1.35 million people killed and millions more injured on the world’s roads each year and organizes people to support change to prevent such tragedies.

The Worcester event seeks to raise awareness of traffic deaths and near-misses in Worcester, increase driver awareness about pedestrian and cyclist  safety, and rally support for the goal of zero roadway deaths and the design of safe roads for all.
