Beginner ride series
4.5 miles, at an easy pace, on the Blackstone River Bikeway and the boardwalk in Worcester. For beginners and leisure riders, and anyone returning to riding after a while.
Arrive at 10:30 a.m. for a free bike checkup; ride starts at 11:00 a.m.

This is the first in a series of four rides designed to help people transition from cycling on bike paths to cycling on roads. Riders can do any or all of the rides. Helmets are required. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
May 4 – bike path only, 4.5 miles, from Blackstone River Valley Heritage Center, 3 Paul Clancy Way, Worcester
May 11 – bike path and protected bike lane on the road, 5 miles, from Stearns Tavern, 140 Mill St., Worcester
May 18 – bike path and on-road riding, 8.2 miles, from Blackstone River Valley Heritage Center, 3 Paul Clancy Way, Worcester
May 25 – protected bike lane on the road, road riding with traffic lights and turns, 7.4 miles, from Stearns Tavern, 140 Mill St., Worcester
