From Major Taylor to the Major Leagues
Chris Boucher, author of “Harry ‘Bucky’ Lew: A Biography of Basketball’s First Black Professional,” will host an interactive discussion about Massachusetts’ own Bucky Lew (who was dubbed Lowell’s Major Taylor) and how the Bay State’s early athletes, team managers and fans influenced the full integration of major league sports that came a generation later.
The free presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, in the Saxe Room of the Worcester Public Library, 3 Salem Square, Worcester.
